


About the Computer Labs at AES
AES houses two computer labs, one for students in grades K-1 and the other for students in second through fourth grades. Both labs contain 25 networked computers and are staffed by certified teachers.
Students in grades K-2 attend computer once each week for 45 minutes while students in grades 3 and 4 attend twice weekly. Both labs utilize the Internet and multiple educational software packages for support of the curriculum and student assessment.
In the K-1 lab, students are introduced to computers through the use of educational software that supports the curriculum.
In grades 2nd – 4th students participate in formal technology lessons addressing the following skills: basic operations and concepts; social, ethical and human issues; technology productivity tools; technology communication tools; technology research tools; and technology problem-solving and decision-making tools.
