Ms. Johnson is an Ashville High School alumnus and began her teaching career at Ashville Middle School in 1990. During her nine years at AMS, Ms. Johnson taught Special Education and fifth grade. Ms. Johnson transferred to Moody Middle School in 1999 to serve as assistant principal before becoming principal at Ashville Elementary in July of 2000. Dr. Jenkins is a graduate of Gadsden High School and began his 17 year teaching career at Ivalee Elementary School in Etowah County. He was twice named Etowah County's Teacher of the Year and was Top 4 in the State of Alabama as well as being the recipient for Alabama's Teacher Hall of Fame. He has taught first, second and third grades. He began his administration career at Hokes Bluff Elementary School where he served for three years as Assistant Principal.

Kari Wadsworth
Receptionist
Kari Wadsworth is a graduate of Pell City High School. She has been employed as the Receptionist and Student Database Manager at Ashville Elementary School since 1996. She owns her own business: Southern Classic Estates. She and her husband have a son, Parker, who is a student and football player at Ashville Middle School.
Mrs. Wadsworth is responsible for the smooth operations of the front office, taking care of students, entering student attendance into the computer, and greeting visitors.
Melanie is a 1981 graduate of AHS. She attended Gadsden State Community College and worked 14 years at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. She was the book-keeper at Steele Jr. High School from 1998-2004 before becoming our school's book-keeper. She is married to Randy and has one son, Jordan, who is on a baseball scholarship at Snead State Community College.
