Dr. Jenkins is a graduate of Gadsden High School and began his 22 year teaching career at Ivalee Elementary School in Etowah County. He was twice named Etowah County's Teacher of the Year and was Top 4 in the State of Alabama as well as being the recipient for Alabama's Teacher Hall of Fame. He has taught first, second, and third grades 1991-2004. He began his administration career at Hokes Bluff Elementary School where he served for three years as Assistant Principal (2004-2007). He currently (2007-Present) is in his fifth year as Assistant Principal at AES and serves as an Adjunct Professor for Jacksonville State University in the Educational Leadership Department where he teaches Principals and other Administrators from Alabama and Georgia effective school leadership. He also has published articles and excerpts in National administrative magazines and school textbooks.

Kari Wadsworth
Receptionist
Kari Wadsworth is a graduate of Pell City High School. She has been employed as the Receptionist and Student Database Manager at Ashville Elementary School since 1996. She owns her own business: Southern Classic Estates. She and her husband have a son, Parker, who is a student athlete at Ashville High School.
Mrs. Wadsworth is responsible for the operations of the front office, entering student attendance into the computer, and greeting visitors.
Melanie is an Ashville High alumnus. She attended Gadsden State Community College and worked in the medical business field before coming to the school system. She was the bookkeeper at Steele Jr. High School from 1998 - 2004 before becoming our bookkeeper at AES. She is married to Randy Stone and has one son, Jordan, who is a senior at Jacksonville State University majoring in nursing.

Tammy Coefield is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Elementary Education and a graduate from Jacksonville State University with a Masters in Biology and Secondary Education, as well as an Educational Specialists degree in Educational Administration. She began her 22 years in education at Cleburne County Schools teaching science and language arts to 6th-12th graders. She transferred into the counselor's position at Cleburne County Elementary school in 1999 and in 2000, was named Assistant Principal at a Middle School in Georgia. In 2003, she became the principal of Frutihurst Elementary in Cleburne county for four years and moved into a central office position with Cleburne County in charge of staff development and instruction from 2007-2010. In 2010, she was named a Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum for Jefferson County Schools where she worked before coming to Ashville Elementary. She is the wife of Oneonta City School Superintendent, Scott Coefield.
